In the heart of Chikmagalur

If you want to spend quality time with your family or with your loved ones and need to relaxfrom the stresses and strains of life, then Chikmagalur is the place where you can find 'Eagle EyeHoliday Home' at Hoscodu Estate. It is 48kms from Chikmagalur and 300 kms from Bangalore.

It is a place where you can feel heaven on earth, where one is fully surrounded by the beauty of greenery and mother nature. If you love birds, well, one can hear the pleasing sound of the cuckoo, while you enjoy the astounding view of the scenic which is needed desperately by uscity dwellers.

It is an ideal place for those of us who love nature and of course without a doubt the best place for photographers to capture the exquisiteness of unspoiled nature. Stand in one place and watch the clouds move towards you- it is a fascinating experience. And if you are the adventurous kind, this is the perfect place to work up a sweat with trekking, rock climbing and other extreme sport activities.

One can enjoy the view of animals through wildlife safari. It was amazing to see spectacular view of landscape early in the morning especially when it is covered by mist. If you go along with the conducted safari, you get the opportunity to see deer, wild boar, bucks, tigers, hornbill and lots of peacock and varieties of birds found inside the estate.

The most magnificent view can be seen early in the morning when the thick fog embraces you with a cool breeze. It is one of the best destinations for a newly wed couple to go for a honeymoon. So those of you who are looking for a honey moon in Switzerland, Australia, Bangkok, Dubai, Singapore etc. you can enjoy one for 1/3 the price in our very own Karnataka.

Eagle Eye Holidays ensures you of a great time which does not puncture your wallet . The cool breeze makes you to snuggle up and wrap up your body in blankets and have a lovely time with your partner.

You can also pamper yourself by Ayurvedic treatments that revive one from head to toe. There are different kinds of treatments which will relax you and help you unwind. You have to book one day in advance for these treatments. Unfortunately I could not have any as I had other plans for spending my holiday.

When it comes to accommodation, there were a different variety of rooms like cottages, tree houses, villas and glass houses. The glass house had an in house swimming pool and was a new construction. The package tariffs for each person per day ranged from Rs. 1,500 /- to 4,000/- . The package included a welcome drink, breakfast, meals, campfire, fishing, coracle ride, plantation walk, bird watching, forest trek and outdoor and indoor games like shuttle badminton, chess etc. A couple of activities for which you have to pay are a wildlife safari, target practicing, adventure trek, outdoor music by professional D J, river side picnic and sight- seeing. Bookings were to be made one day in advance so that arrangements could be made.

Most holiday resorts offer excellent cuisine and they have great selection of food on offer. They have their own in house restaurant “All Spice” which offers vegetarian and non- vegetarian ranging from North Indian and Mughlai to South Indian food. Being a big time foodie I loved south Indian food like Kadbu, Chappathi, Vegetable Sagu (curry), rice and other side dishes. You may ask what is special in these dishes? But trust me the taste is yummy and feel like having again and again. You can also taste grape wine which is home made. But don’t ever miss out on drinking strawberry juice even if it’s just for the experience.

Since the estate covers 130 acres with sprawling plantations of coffee, spices, medicinal plantsand orchids it is an eco-tourist's paradise. It is worth going there and enjoying your holiday with your family and friends. It is a place where you can rediscover yourself and definitely a place to relax in. That’s what a holiday is all about!

Other tourist and religious destinations like Kandya temple, Muthodi, Sringeri and Horanadu, Dharmasthala, Belur and Halebidu, Kudremukh, Bababudangiri and Kemmangundi are easily accessible from Eagle Eye Holidays.
